KATHRYN SMITH-MCGLYNN, MFA, MPA Co-Founding Artistic Director & Executive Producer ​ An actress, theatre director and writer, Kathryn has performed on international and regional stages including Shakespeare Theatre Company, Perserverance Theatre Company, Illinois Theatre Center, Organic Theatre Company, Apple Tree Theatre Company, Blue Heron Arts Center, Moscow Art Theatre and others. Her credits include MAZE RUNNER: THE SCORCH TRIALS, THE LYING GAME, SCOUNDRELS, IN PLAIN SIGHT, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, THE DEEP END, AS THE WORLD TURNS and others.     As a playwright, Kathryn has penned and performs Come Away with Me, a one woman show about the life of Harriet Tubman. She is also a contributing writer for AVE Magazine. ​ Kathryn is a former Visiting Assistant Professor of the University of Texas at El Paso where she teaches courses in theatre, television and film. Her areas of research interest are multicultural and intercultural performance and communication, drama therapy, cultural identity, racial transgression, image, perception & representation. ​​ A former nonprofit executive, Kathryn raised critical funding and provided strategic fund-raising counsel for organizations in New York City including the Museum of Modern Art, Manhattan Theatre Club, Signature Theatre Company, The Drawing Center, The Joyce Dance Company, The Center Against Domestic Violence and New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation. ​ Kathryn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Drama from the University of Michigan; a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from Carnegie Mellon University (Summa Cum Laude), a Master of Arts in Russian Drama from Moscow Art Theatre School; and a Master of Public Administration in Policy Analysis from Baruch College where she graduated Summa Cum Laude - Pi Alpha Alpha with top honors.
